Concert Reviews The Perishers
World Café Live is an exciting new small venue in Philly that always has great shows. I recently won tickets to see the Perishers perform there in an impromptu show. It was the last night of the band's first trip to America. The next day they were returning to their native Sweden. The Perishers have been together since the late 90s but were basically unknown in this country until the release of Let There Be Morning earlier this year. It was interesting to watch a band at this early stage of their international career. Their performance was flawless, but the band members still looked self-conscious, like they were wondering "do we sound okay?" The Perishers have catchy
melodies and memorable lyrics to go with them. Despite the band's own self-consciousness,
it was a great set from a new, fresh band.
